Frequently Asked Questions for applicants requiring an Airside ID Pass
Absolutely, we only gather information that is necessary, and this is held securely, treated with confidence and only shared where required with your consent.
You will have a dedicated member of our Referencing Team as your point of contact who will be available over the phone, or via email, 5 days a week if you wish to check the status of your application. As a minimum, you can expect to receive weekly updates from us.
The short answer is yes, you need to declare all of the jobs you have had within the given timeframe and any periods of study. Your application will progress much more quickly if we have all the necessary information from the beginning. If another job is discovered once we have completed your background screening, this can severely delay or even stop your application. It is an offence under the Aviation Security act 1982 to knowingly give false information for the purpose of an application for an Airport ID Pass.
Whilst we are conducting your referencing, if you remember a job that you had forgotten to disclose or realise you have given incorrect employment dates, please do not worry. Once you have submitted your application you will not be able to amend your own information, however simply give us a call or pop us an email and we will be happy to update this information. on your behalf.
As long as we have the name of your employer, the approximate dates that you were employed and whether you were paid directly by the company or via an agency or third party, we can make progress. Any additional information you can supply such as location or contact details for Human Resources or Management is a bonus, however as specialists in background screening we often already have contact details for many employers and call ahead on every occasion to verify referee details.
As part of your background screening we will run a Criminal Records Check. If an offence is listed, a pass may still be obtained depending on the nature of the offence. The decision is at the discretion of your employer/the Airport ID Team. As part of the online application process you are required to disclose any unspent convictions, please ensure you answer this section truthfully.
In this situation it is likely that we will ask you to call HMRC and request an Employment History Statement. This is a document that will show your employment history, including dates of employment, and can be used in place of a reference where companies are no longer trading. Other supporting documentation can also be helpful such as contracts, P45, payslips, etc, so please gather any available documents which may prove useful.
In order to comply with strict regulations, we are required to request and adequately chase a previous employer, ensuring all avenues have been explored. Although this delay can be frustrating, only once we have met certain criteria can we explore obtaining clearance using only supporting documentation such as those listed above. The requirements are different across all employers and airports and your administrator will be able to discuss a plan of action with you in the event an employer is not responding.
We have reference request letters in many languages and multi-lingual administrators who can assist. If you know that your previous employer does not speak English please let us know at the start of the process so we can communicate with them effectively.
We pride ourselves on our candidate relationships and are always available to discuss the process with you. Please call us 01908 683 094 or send an email and we will be happy to help.
